Haven't we talked about this lift??
 

I saw one today in the Flaming Gorge HD Dealership in Green River, WY. It looked pretty good to me, or at least a lot better than the one I have back at home right now. Some of the reviews talk about how quick the bike comes down and that you can't really regulate the speed, but those reviews are like 6-7 years old. A newer review said he didn't have any issue with regulating drop speed. Does anyone have a newer version of this model lift and can verify that HD has addressed this issue, or not? Any other comments, pro/con, are welcome as well......

Looks like the harbor Freight lift but painted orange.

Very very similar to my red Craftsman.

More similar than the HF, for sure. And the Craftsman come with tie down straps too, lol....

How adjustable is the drop speed on you Craftsman?

Looks like the same basic ATV/Mower/Motorcycle lift sold by several companies. As far as the Craftsman goes; I've used it for years. The one I have has no adjustment on drop speed AFAIK. I just tap the down peddle. Have not had a problem with that. Would be nicer if the Harley lift has an adjustable down speed.

And that's why I'm curious about the drop speed of a newer HD model......

Well it kind of seems to me with the other reviews and price, the HF might have been the better choice.. :D I've got and old Northern tool that has been beat to death but I only use it to lift bikes for washing or setting a bike on a roll around stand.

I hear ya. The thing that jumped out at me about the HD one I saw in the dealer was it's footprint. It's longer and wider, (approx. 40" x 20"), than my unnamed red lift that still works, but it's days are numbered, so I thought I'd be a little proactive before I'm left with nothing and looking to buy a new one "RIGHT AWAY", know what I mean? But I need to check the lift height of mine when I get back home to see if it is +/- the 16.9" the HD states theirs is.......

Another thing I saw in the reviews was that HD doesn't seem to carry any rebuild parts should something on it fail and you want to replace/rebuild it....... :icon_denk:
