Default Accessory Switch on FLHTCU

I want to add heated clothing harness to my FLHTCU and utilize the accessory toggle switch on the dash panel. However, I do not want to cut any wires on the bikes main harnesses. I noticed in the H-D catalog that there is an electrical accessory harness with plugs at either end. My question is, how can I connect my electrical clothing harness to the accessory toggle switch (instead of running the clothing harness directly to the battery)? I have also thought about doing the same thing with heated grips. Any suggestions or experience would be appreciated.

Just pop the panel cover off, hook the wire up directly into the switch. The heated hand grips have a switch built into them, so there should be no need to run them into another switch.

Thanks, Harleytuner. Can this be done without cutting any of the bikes factory wires? Appreciate the input. jdmcd

Yes it can be done. There is also a plug under you seat that is linked to that switch, you would need to go to your local HD dealer and buy the male end to plug into it, it has pigtail off of it, so you could just tie into it there.

I want to be able to plug my Gerbing heated gear into the accessory connector. I assume that I'll be able to plug it in to the connector with that plug and pigtail. Does anyone know the part # for the male end to plug into?

I ended up buying the Gerbing cigarette lighter adapter, and it worked just as if I had wired to the accessory connecter under the seat. The only thing I dislike about using the cigarette lighter is I have to be careful to unplug it before turning the wheel all the way to the left. It barely touches the tank when I do that.

Something you may not know. The plug for the Assy switch has 4 pole two are controlled by the switch and two are hot all the time.
With the pig tail HD make you can have you Heated geear hot all the time and still have a pig tail for you Assy if you chose to use it.
You may want to consider running you hot wire up the slot in the seat and just plug the gear in behind you or slightly to the side that works best for many
The plug

The pig tail
