Davie's near Toronto let's you take out their bikes. Also if you look in the HOG magazine (can't remember the name), it always has a list of rides and events that have bikes available for test rides. Also in Canada every year we have a charity event called Ride For Sight that has events in almost every province in the summer that all of the manufacturers bring bikes to.

I wouldn't buy anything from a dealer that won't let people test drive their bikes. Sure it costs them a little bit to do, but how can you spend $20K without a freaking test drive?

Find a place to rent one and you'll be glad in the long run!

I just found out that our dealership which I thought allowed test drives doesn't. They do a rental special on Wednesdays that you can rent 4 different bikes for $69 throughout the day so you can get a feel for the rides. They're yours to ride while the dealership is open. It's not as good as a free test ride but I guess it's better than the usual $100 a day fee for one bike. Of course, you still have to have a $2000 deposit to put down just in case.

Also, a local American Ironhorse dealership just started renting out some of their choppers. I'll have to check one of those out soon.

Our local dealer won't let us test drive a bike, in fact, I've never seen a dealer that would let you test ride. I've always managed to get hooked up through buddies...ride their bikes and then make a decision. Only way to test ride one is to rent one...

And that seems a little bit nuts...if I wanna buy it, why can't I test it?

Really is odd, isn't it?
