Broke a bolt installing a Kuryakyn Transmission Shroud Cover

OK, I'm no gearhead by any stretch of the imagination, but I can do basic to intermediate tasks with tools. Last week, I was installing a Kuryakyn Transmission Shroud Cover (PN 8654) on my '09 FLTR and the Kuryakyn replacement bolt just broke! No warning, more than 1/4 inch from even being flush with the transmission! For those of you not familiar with the install, it's really simple (if I thought I could do it without a hitch).

1) You remove three stock bolts from the stock transmission cover
2) replace them with the Kuryakyn bolts, which have threaded centers in their heads
3) place the cover on
4) install the bolts that hold the cover on into the threaded heads of the bolts and that's essentially it!

Now this is a simplification of the install, but not a great one. I removed the first stock bolt, replaced it with a Kuryakyn bolt, turned it a few turns and !!!SNAP!!! It wasn't even to the point where you put the torque wrench on it! Has anyone else had this problem?:icon_rant::icon_denk:

That's what I keep hearing. Finally dropped it off at the shop today. Decided to go ahead and have some other work done while it was in the "hospital". Having the inner fairing painted and adding a SG rear fender fascia to it. Hopefully, I'll be back on the road in a week or so. Thanks.:icon_patriot:
