evo vs. twin cam oil tanks

Anyone know if the sizes are close between evo and twin cam horseshoe oil bags? I am working on a evo/softail based rigid (kraft tech) and would like to run a 2000 newer oil tank but not sure if I would have clearance issues with fitment. I am ok with reworking mounting brackets but don't want to cut and reshape the tin. Any help super appreciated... i m stuck. thanks johnny

There's a few guys here that will steer you in the right direction. If it were me I would get a raw steel round tank with the bat box cut out.

Very cool. Why not stick a small lithiun bat behind trans. I'm sure you looked at everything though.

mocked up a ballistic which i think is the smallest and it won't fit behind trans only push it out so its half hanging in the wind outside frame rail. looks weak. then I went down the I will make it kick only, and learned to do it right, looking at G for the magneto and another couple Gs for OE kicker trans 5 into 4.... so horseshoe but i want more of a panhead lookn tank then evo and the 2000 newer tanks have it more... cheers j

Thats why I sugested a litheum. They are small and pack a punch. Did you check JP cycles for a horse shoe fitmnt.

https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...67982978_n.jpghttps://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...04969922_n.jpghere is mock up of smallest ballistic battery for big twin but I had an idea this morning that maybe since these batteries are made up of cells (3x4) maybe I can have one of the manufactures make me a 2x6 which would fit.... it will be pricey but wtf I really like my current oil tank....

I like what you got there too. Here is a great sorce for batteries. I suggested lithium because it has more power at 2/3 the size.
