Chook sound

Hey guys, I'm having a bit of an issue on my heritage springer. Every now and then I hear a chook sound and the bike seems to lose power for a microsecond.
Any ideas? Carburetor? Plugs?
It feels like its sucking air and doesn't sound right when idling.
I have a mikuni carb on it if that helps.

My first thought is an air leak somewhere.

Does it backfire, or sputter, thru the carb?

It does sputter a little. It happens when cruising not necessarily in any special gear or speed.

fixed it

ok. well i finally figured out was wrong with my bike. it was a vacuum leak on the carb. all it neede was a plug. best its ran in years.
funny how something so small can have such an affect.
