I have a 2001 FXDWG and I have had a scraping noise comming from the front brake. It sounds like the pads are gone but they are fine and the brakes work good and it doesn't make the noise when I am braking, however when I am riding with no brake on I can hear the noise and it's anoying anybody ever have that problem or know what it might be?

Mine does the same.....I've asked friends and they said theirs does too. There's always a very slight drag on the rotor and it makes a light scrapinog noise, sometimes I'll get a ringing noise from mine. As long as it's not really hanging up, I'm sure it's normal. Go for a ride, don't use front brake at all and stop and feel around caliper and rotor, shouldn't be hot.

 

it will be hot after riding due to the slight drag, but not extremely hot. Pretty normal to get a slight scraping noise, many time dust or dirt on the pads or rough rotors.

 

clean the pistons up on your caliper and make sure there not siezed up.
