You could always try and file a complaint with the FTC. This is a great example of bait and switch.

Do you have his assertions in writing? As in an email? If so, your credit card company is your friend and will issue a chargeback. Contact your credit card company AGAIN and send the item back to Rob return receipt.

It's time to get " Black Bikes Matter " after him

Sorry -- I feel for lost $$ -- Rob's a jerk and he must be small time , Reston is a high dollar area , I could not think where he could be located as I lived in Reston for 13 yr

I agree with Mike on the fact that some post on the forums just to sell items. I don't believe that was the original intention of the for sale section. I wish the moderators could tighten it up as well. Maybe make people who only post on the for sale forum register as vendors or something similar. I see alot of parts posted that aren't even near what the OP is stating in their post that the part is meant to fit. Needs to be more control somehow.

Sorry to hear that. I'd cancel that card and get a new one. Mine is a Visa card through AAA. Never had any problems with them.

New users can post FS stuff all they want; I never buy from them. I've done business with a number of folks here but only after they've established themselves. Folks that don't fill out their profile, list a location or have posts only related to selling stuff sometimes wonder why they can get buyers. It's not a mystery to me.

I'm on with the card company again. Trying to get them to reopen the dispute. I'll let you know how it goes. Either way - Stay away from Rob's Used Harley Parts. The next step if the card dispute doesn't work is small claims. I'm not going to let this guy get away with this rip off.

If you have any documentation at all that shows the exact product that was for sale and you purchased it, and the product you received was not what was advertised and purchased, then that is bait and switch. That practice is illegal. The FTC frowns upon that.

The website says NOPE all over it.

Kind of like a windowless van with a tear stained mattress in the back says nope when you're offered a ride.
