I've been on HDF for a long time, but I don't think I ever posted in this thread.

I'm from Iowa but seem to hit Wisconsin at least once a year for a few days, sometimes even twice. Last year did 3 days around tomahawk, then hit door county towards end of summer. Good people, good roads & riding, plus lots of nice mom/pop places to eat sleep etc.

Anyway, my wife & my cousin & his wife are planning a ride around the 4th of July. We are leaving home after work Tuesday the 3rd which will get us to eastern Iowa that night. Looking for a good town to stay in on the 4th that has a good celebration, fireworks, etc plus accommodations that would allow us to walk to festivities. Flexible but thinking north central Wisconsin, maybe even tomahawk again. You guys know any towns that are known for their Fourth of July celebrations that I should consider? Things to do in the evening etc? Looking for tips, thanks all!

As far as fireworks go, Summerfest big bang is the best, but by July 3, you are past that (June 27th). Alternatively, any medium sized town and up will have decent fireworks, just need to look up the schedule. Small towns can be hit or miss, budgets getting smaller and all that. Plymouth is where I am, (population around 8K), and they are not too bad, usually. One thing you can count on, pretty much anywhere you go, is biker hospitality. Tons of small to big bars/restaurants/hotels, etc. that welcome bikers.
If you haven't already, check out the Kettle Moraine scenic tour. It goes basically from NW of Milwaukee up to my neck of the woods, curvy, hilly, great scenery, especially on bikes.

Maybe Ron750 or Nevada72 can chime in (might have to PM them if they don't check this area of the forum), they are from the Madison & Milwaukee areas, and can provide some more insight in those areas.
