Michigan Avenue.....always a pleasure

Any other information you would like to volunteer ? Maybe riding outside of the city, lets say going north, west, south...and you definitely can't go east.

Make it a destination ride...
1) Poopy's in Savannah Illinois...great bar/music and ride to it
2) Galena, nice ride to it and historical and great restaurants/shopping...roads to get there fantastic..
3) head north to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.....stop by Woodstock HD right on route 47 from your house.

Start on rt 53 from Wilmington down the north side of the river on rt 102 to Kankakee and back to Braidwood on south side of river via rt 113

From Morris on Cemetery Road to Joliet.

The trip from Morris rt 47 go to Dupont Road west into Seneca and then to rt 6 west to Ottawa to 71 into the backside of Starved Rock. Avoiding Utica traffic.

This is a great ride. I'm in minooka so I do ridge to cemetary rd, west, hit 6 in morris, thru seneca, utica, ottowa, do the south side of the river through starved rock. Hit the Trading post then take the north side of the river back into Ottowa. Take main st? not sure what its called south through Ottowa. Take a left at the water tower and grocery store. That takes you into Seneca, hit Boondocks, Fergy's or whatever in town and then go wherever after.

The Galena ride is great, Also west down 52 to 30 into Clinton Iowa is great then south to Le Claire where Antique Archaeology is based bunch of nice bars restaurants on the Mississippi.

Chicago is the worst city for riding. No hills, no mountains, no ocean, no nothing.

Anything that is pretty is just a tiny little burst of freedom then it's over.
Those would be:
Starved Rock
The forest preserve down by 95th and Lagrange
LSD on a sunday morning with no traffic
Besides that there ain't much. Gotta get at least 100 miles in various directions to start seeing anything midwestern scenic.

I live in Schaumburg area and have ridden to Milwaukee, galena, lake Geneva and starved rock this year. All decent rides, Starved Rock State Park was probably the the best. There were some twisties just outside the park that are nice, but there was a good amount of farm land on the route also. Trying to get to door county this weekend.
