Well first the obvious. Avoid 94.

Second, I have never had the pleasure to experience it on a bike but I spent quite a bit of time in the Brainerd lakes area for work building cell towers. You would be incredibly remiss if you do not include that.

you say 2 days so I am guessing, spend a day getting to Moorehead and the next day getting back home?

If so this is what I would do:
Redwing to Moorehead - you can either follow it back the same or choose your own way home.

this part of a trip home or something? are you looking to 'sightsee' in MN or something so looking for a good route?
unclear why you'd avoid 94

The only reason to ride the interstate is to blast on through to your destination. That is inherently opposed to the reason most of ride motorcycles. Especially around norther MN. When there are so many more beautiful options why would choose the Interstate?

That is all. Sometimes it is about the destination. I have taken the bike for short trips when I didn't have time to venture about and then I took the slab, but when I am out to enjoy the ride I avoid it at all costs.

The OP question seemed to point to making the most area.

OP never replied to the post so unclear of the context of their question. States they're from Alaska so is this a 'trip home' from somewhere with far better roads? (which is where they should spend the time IMO instead of in MN). I am guessing thats the case which necessitates riding the Slab. Why eat a hot dog when you can have a ribeye.
