Default Good rides in Indianapolis/Carmel/Zionsville/Fishers area?

Looking for some decent ride routes around Indy.

Mainly been sticking around what I'm familiar with being a newer rider but looking to stretch out a bit more.

Thanks!

I live about 110 miles north of you. Used to work on Indy west side. My advice: get out of town; traffic is a bitch around there. What bike do you have? I love riding down to Bloomington and in Brown County.

2015 Iron 883.

I’ve been riding surface roads around where I live, out to eagle creek and the southside. Haven’t really stretched it out though. Traffic is a pain, so I try to stay off roads around the rush hour times.

Roll 39 south down to 67 then cut through Martinsville to get to 44...take that to Morgantown and jump on 135 down to Nashville....go south out of Nashville on 46 to Bloomington keep going through elletsville to Spencer then jump on 231 north 67 and head home....if your *** can hang that long....if you want more Twisties you'll need to run 45 from Bloomington east to bean blossom....there are some other sweet roads down there but you should probably hook up with someone before attempting it alone so you don't get lost....

I saw that event! Have never done a group ride so a bit nervous to be around that many riders.

Either way, I’ll come up and support the cause.

Not a bid deal in a group, they only ask to keep the groups from having big gaps, other than that, you ride at your own pace.

With the weather getting colder you might take a shorter ride and take SR39 from Lebanon South to Lizton and stop for some good grub at the Rusty Silo, then take SR136 either West for a longer ride in more rural areas or east towards Brownsburg and back to wherever you live. Or bypass the Rusty Silo and go through Brownsburg to speedway and eat at Big Woods. They used to have the best fried pork belly, if you're into pork, and after all... Who isn't.

Take 136 thru Lizton to Jamestown. Turn left and pick up SR 234 at the flashing light in town and head thru Ladoga, cross 231 and 47, continue on past Shades State Park. SR 234 will cross 41, and you can take it north to Veedersburg and turn right onto 136. Head thru Hillsburo, Waynetown and Crawfordsville. You will end up back thru Jamestown to Lizton and back to Indy.

Also, ride 36 thru Danville, turn right on 39 and after a couple of mile turn left on 236 to North Salem, nice smooth curvy road with very little traffic. Turn right in North Salem onto 75, that will take you to 234 just outside Jamestown. Turn right on 234 into Jamestown and pick up 136.

Another is, pick up 75 at the Jamestown exit on 74, head north to Thorntown. Turn left onto 47, and take it to Crawfordsville. Another nice smooth, curvy road with not much traffic.

In the area? No. You have to go South to get any good roads. Long straight boring roads, you can ride 32 or 38 East and stop in some of the small towns. My favorite route is 37 South to 144. East to Franklin. Then 44 back West to 37. South about half a mile, then East on 252 over to 135. South to 45, and take it to Bloomington. From there, 37 all the way back, or just reverse course depending on how you feel. If you want to stretch that out, take 446 South to 58, then West to Bedford. South on 37 about half a mile. East on 158 for a hundred yards and then West on 450 to Shoals. This stretch is probably the best riding in Indiana. Then East on 150 to French Lick. Stop somewhere to eat and then take the same route back. If I recall correctly out of Greenwood, it's about 350mi round trip.
