Thought I was on a roll. I found a "new 09 Fatboy take-off front end" and bought it and also bought the FB headlight and chrome. I also got a Heritage spoke 16" wheel and tire. It arrived yesterday. I couldn't wait to get to it today. When I opend the boxes, I was shocked at what I received, dirty, oily , dusty, crapy, nasty stuff. The stuff is going back Monday when UPS comes to pick it up...then I start all over again. I guess this time I will convert my mid-glide (2007 FXDC) to a wideglide and try to find a 16" wheel. I will use spacers and use my factory fender. Down the road I will change the fender too. Anybody out there know where to buy (and what to buy) a 16" wheel???? It should be easy, just don't know. I think a FXST front wheel will fit but I don't know. My axle size is 1", spacers to fit a wheel to the brake rotor will be important as well as spacing the wheel to the center. Any help is appreciated.

A FXST front wheel may well fit the Wide Glide front end (may require bearings to be replaced) but it is essentially the same 21" wheel that comes on a Wide Glide ....

A FLST wheel, on the other hand, is a 16" wheel ... again may need to have bearings changed out to fit the axle diameter (should be an easy fix) ....

I don't believe spacers (other than stock FXDWG) should be required for either of those Softail wheels if used with a Wide Glide front end ... maybe someone can verify that for me ... (not sure if the new '06-later 49mm front ends kept same spacing/width as the earlier 41mm front ends ....

Good find Rene ... anyone thinking of switching to floorboards, this is the route I took with mine ... paid about $110 shipped, in Spring of '07 as I recall ....

fixed my bottoming out problems...installed 2.5 inch spacers in the front fork tubes...havent hit bottom yet but the preload on the springs made a huge difference, however i think 2.5 might have been a bit much cause the spring are definitly alot stiffer, however definitly rideable! may try 2 inches once riding season is over. hope this may help someone in the future...PVC from lowes alot cheaper than progressive/works spring kits (and thats what the spacers are in those...seen a kit from each in person).
