I was advised to switch the triple tree out for 6 degree. Does anyone have any thoughts and advice?

Two sidecars I have installed did not need it. However most often it is. You can try it get it setup best you can . If it is to hard to steer then do it.
6 degrees sounds like a lot?

I have the Liberty 5 degree on my Road King, I like it but some people say it feels like the front wheel is not on the ground. You should ride without it first and if you have problems change. It's not a cheap adjustment.

I am looking at Hawk Halters 6 degree for my softail deluxe with a motorvation Spyder. It works now but does get a bit aggravating at slow speed.

I had a set of triple trees from Champion Sidecars on my Superglide/sidecar combo. This was my first sidecar rig and the triple trees were installed when it was put together. So, I had never ridden a sidecar without the reduced trail of their triple trees.

This year I replaced the Superglide with a stock '17 Softail Slim S. The triple trees weren't available from Champion and they referred me to Hawg Halters. Yesterday I received a new set of trees and haven't got them installed yet (I know ...).

The Softail works fine with the sidecar, but man oh man, it sure is harder work than I remember!. What I expect the new triple trees to do is lighten and quicken the steering.

I hear ya. Did about 400 miles of the twisty PCH one day on my Road Glide/Hannigan with stock trees, my shoulders were sore! Did it again after installing Champion raked trees and it was way easier.
Don't have any experience with the Hawg Halters trees, but they should do the same thing.

I'm watching to learn, I have it in mind that I'd like to try this before a trike...just love the look and nostalgia of it all
