My old man went to some V&H short shots after his install, he had some longer ones on it but was concerned with the exhaust blowing directly onto the axle, similar to what you're is looking like. I know it's a love/hate thing with the short shots but they work, and they do sound good. It's not a touring bike so the volume isn't an issue.

I think I'd be headed to the mearest custom exhaist shop to have them fab up some extra long pipes that exit above and behind the axle. Thinking upward angled for the last 12" or so and baloney cut. Or maybe a pair of fat supertrapps.

My long term plan was to do a custom exhaust that would work well with the Wide Glide as a trike; keeping the BSS's was sort of an interim fix. I knew the billet tips would be lost but hoped/believed the exhaust would clear the rear fork belt adjusters; it's close, but not quite. I don't mind experimenting on the BSS's, I've got the pipes and heat shields marked out for cutting and if they don't turn out too bad I'll stick with them and plan out a more appropriately made system. I'll revert back to my original custom tune and start doing auto tuning runs; I don't know how much of an effect shortening the BSS's will have on the low and mid-range, but auto tuning makes sense with the pipes being altered. I've also got Fuel Moto as a go-to for map tweaking, depending on the results I get with the auto tuning.

I think I'll leave the exhaust sit for the day and instead, mount up the fenders and fender struts and see what sort of clearances fresh hell those may possibly bring

I'd love to eventually do some sort of a variation on the Exile Cycles Discovery trike exhaust that can work with the Frankenstein rear axle and fenders/struts...

That Exile exhaust is pretty much what I had in my head. Very cool.

A few new images; the rear fenders are mounted. Ditched the supplied fender mounting hardware for chrome hardware with high crown acorns; nothing exceeds like excess. Next up, is to doubleback on the exhaust and see exactly where that's heading...

Definitely subscribing to this one. Its looking awesome and I'm very curious to see how the extended wideglide front works out as a trike.

those fenders are just not polished enough. at first i thought the right hand fender had a pink floyd mural

i like the clean rear axle end

you do have a talent for vision, nice job
