Default Frankenstein Belt Guard

The Frankenstein trike kit has no belt guard. Looking at pictures of Frankenstein conversions you can see the open belt. I did a search and didn't find any mention of guards for Frankenstein although t did find discussions about belt guards on other brands of conversions.

Has anyone made a belt guard for their conversion? Any problems on a gravel road or passenger clothing getting caught?

My Frankenstein kit shipped today and I'm wondering if I should consider fabricating a guard when I install it or it's nothing to worry about.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Hey Dieselnerd,

I have not seen any available belt guards for the Frankenstein kit. I must admit it is a slight concern as far as gravel roads go, so I have just avoided them. If you plan on riding gravel roads often you may want to fabricate something. If it's good enough there may just be a market for them.

Thanks NC, I was thinking of making some brackets that would allow me to use the stock guards I removed prepping my bike for the kit.

Rode a Sportster with a Frankenstein kit for 4 years on all types of roads .. never had a problem not having a belt guard … it did cross my mind when I first installed the kit but found it to be of no concern
