Bushtec Cargo Trailer Replacement Tires

Bushtec Cargo Trailer Replacement Tires
One of the minor complaints that I hear about Bushtec trailers is the lack of availability of replacement tires. The tire on a Bushtec trailer is a 3.00 x 16 tubed tire with a 6 ply load rating.
Max Load 410 LBS. AT 40 PSI Cold (Load Range C)
These tires are available directly from Bushtec, but they cost $69 each.
I did a bit of research and found a replacement tire that seems to work. Unfortunately, this replacement tire is a bit wider at 3.25 x 16. I mounted the replacement tire and everything seems OK. I haven't taken a long trip with the new rubber yet and probably won't till next year.
For people that are interested or curious, I went with:
Kenda K273
Size: 3.25-16
55P (load range C, 93 mph speed rating at full load)
REINF (label on the sidewall, means the tire is reinforced)
Load Range C Tube Type
6P.R.
Max Load 218 kg (481 lbs) at 280 kPa (40 PSI 2.8 bar, 2.80 Kgf/cm^2) Cold
Tread 2 Plies Sidewall 2 Plies (a 4-ply tire)
Nylon
Standard Rim: 2.15 (*** The Bushtec rim is slightly narrower than this)
Made In China
This tire has a higher load rating than the Bushtec tire and probably a stiffer sidewall. This tire is also used on the Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer.
Installed the tires myself using a pair of Harbor Freight tire irons and tire lube. It was a bit challenging removing the tires. The date code on the tires I removed is from March of 2000.
