Default So we did it - Sidecar

Good morning,

Well, my 2009 FLHX now has conjoined twin myalgia. Yes - we bought a sidecar.

Brought it to Canada yesterday.

We bought the Tomahawk version from DMC. Jay and Tara are great to work with. A little more money than I initially thought, but it has most every bell and whistle.

Now to look at raking the front end. I guess considering a car tire too. (Apparently they work really well on a sidecar rig.)

I'm not done with 'motorcycling' I have my 2017 FLHXSE for that...

But the sidecar might open up some new adventures for my wife and I.

Anyhow just thought I'd say hello in this new area of the forums.

Have a good one!!

Cool. I rode with a sidecar for over 10 years. Still miss it sometimes. Mine was rigged for easy on off bolting...4 bolts taken off and I was back to leaning on the curves.

Enjoy!

Post some pictures before during and after, when you can. If you have never had one before there is a learning curve. If you got the ECE (Electric camber control) it is well worth the money. I have mine setup for quick disconnect . But now I don't see taking it off. Depending how the mounts run you may still ride two up with it. Worked out that way with the new one.

There is a few pics for those that like pictures.

Amazingly solid, all my visions of flipping over aren't really necessary. I think the trunk holds about two saddlebags worth. So it might mean hauling more stuff or my wife buying more crap. Ha ha.

The little dog is maybe a 15 pounder so there will be lots of room for camping gear or beer or ------.

Have a good one

That shape really complements the bat-wing. Very nice!

Thanks all!!

My wife actually picked it out she wanted the little door on the side of it. So it meant the Tomahawk version which is more to the Indian styling.

The styling would have a bunch of chrome spears along the front and I asked to drop them. I think it complements the vivid black FLHX nicely. So now of course, the fender on the FLHx is showing it's wear, and I -could- get it cleaned prepped and repainted. Ha ha. It is actually going to be ten years with that motorcycle as I bought it in November 2008.

But I'm thinking of doing the triple tree mod as it is pretty heavy steering. I'm thinking that and fork tubes for now.

I did send my Aquatic AV head unit away as it seems to be needing some love, so that will go back in. Also I have the Alloy Art Fairing kit ready to go in some time too.

I do admit that reverse might be cool too, I'd go Baker for that, but all in good time right...

First the stage one completion on the 2017 FLHXSE...

Not enough money ha ha.

Have a good one

H
