When to repack wheel bearings??
Just repacked bearings on a pull behind trailer that I bought used and wondering how often it needs to be done? Going cross country in a week or so and trying to figure out if I will need to do this while I am on the road.

You could always put some Bearing Buddies on it and bring a grease gun with you. I use those for my boat trailer, and only pull and re-pack once a year.
I am pretty sure though that a good re-packing with some extra grease inside would last a good amount of miles, especially on a small trailer. |
Got an American Legend trailer that has made a trip cross country and to Alaska.Bearings packed at factory then replaced when I got it....about 5000 miles on new bearings...will probably rotate tires and repack/replace if I see any issues.Cheap insurance to have a set of HIGH SPEED bearings with you as a spare.....Just in case.

According to Dexter Axle Co...... every 12 months or 12,000 miles.

Annually works for me. Use quality grease...
