I am about to buy a new rig replacing my 06 ultra with ultra sidecar. I am not going to use the HD sidecar as the wife wants something more comfy like a Hannigan with a roof for rain. Anyway, I know HD supposedly throws a fit over hitches and warranty claims, I wonder what they will do for a sidecar. I looked in the owners manual and it looks like the language for a HD sidecar is gone as of 2014. I would hate to buy a bike and void the warranty immediately with a sidecar. Makes me want to get a 13 because they at least say a HD sidecar is ok and the argument can be made any sidecar with similar weight would be acceptable.

Talked to HD customer care and basically no bikes after 2009 were designed for a sidecar so while it would not void the warranty if the sidecar caused any problems they would not cover it. Guess I need a 12 and will get an aftermarket warranty from the credit union.

 

I just bought a sidecar connection kit for my 2011 from Harley. Sold as a kit for frames 2009-- 2011. I think the frames were the same 2009----- 2013. If they sell the infection kt I would think the warranty would stand.

 

Thats good to know, I would like to get as new as possible. They clearly told me nothing could attach to a 14 twin cooled because of the plumbing. My car is an 08 and in great shape but the wife wants a bigger more comfy car.

 

Are you thinking of selling your 08 sidecar ? I am in the market for one or my 2011. Was thinking of moving my 2002 to the newer frame but would really like to have a newer side hack
