15 minutes into my ride last night the check engine light came on. Shortly there after the speedo quit and the gear position dissapeared. Came to a stop and turned bike off. Restarted but symptoms still there. Noticed 1st gear was much noisier as well. Dropped it off at my local Harley shop and awaiting a phone call with diagnosis.

 

That sucks, I hope it turns out to be something simple and quick to fix.

Take you bike to the mechanic it's very important to not ignore any disturbing symptoms on your lovable bike.

 

VSS (vehicle speed sensor) connector was not properly seated. Now that is everything is working as it should.

 

Simple fix, just not easy to find. Glad it was nothing major...
