Broke 10K miles on my Street-Rod
In the parking lot right now it sits at 11,105. Took it for a nearly 3K mile journey (2764 miles) in the last 5 days with 1 day off. Bike ran great, not one issue, my longest day was +600 miles.
Video from the BRP:
Ate up Deals Gap, 226A in little Switzerland and the vast bulk of the BRP.
Great riding in that neck of the woods!
This bike really has a niche as a sport tourer. I am going to send the seat out this winter to Day-Long... With the seat done correctly I could definitely nab 1000 miles in 24 hours. I did a +600 mile day and it was a tad rough.
Bike is running phenomenal!

Thanks, Just another milestone really. The bike really feels broken in now. Motor and transmission are working quite well, there is a random clunk when I stop quickly or hit a big bump... Definitely feels like it's from the transmission however there has been no issues with the power-train as of recent.
Coming up to 12K miles now... Big week next week with and looking to nab some miles over the weekend. Fall is definitely coming up fast for it's been in the 40's consistently on my rides into work. The headlight blew out on the TU250X so I'm just too lazy to buy another one so I've been commuting on the XG-A instead.
I may hit 15K on the Street Rod for the season, so I'll bring it in for a 15K mile service which includes a valve clearance check. That all depends on how good of a September and October we get. I just picked up a $100 1980 GS750E and plan to rip on that more as it will fill the hooligan role (faster then the Street-Rod). I'm a little board of the XG750A at the moment more less just need to bring it into my shop and fab some rear sets and get the seat done correctly for long touring days. I will plan to use it more for sport touring next year as I look at trading in or selling the Connie 14 (hitting 50K miles). Since I will will have the Street-Rod for the full seasons next year, if I do my cross country trip that I'm starting to plan I could see closer to 20K on it next year.
I just did my numbers for the season to date and I'm at 16,727 miles total miles ridden on all my machines. September and October are my last 2 big months then the snow starts to settle in November (then I ride the TU250X everyday until the temps drop bellow freezing every day then I'm stuck to the confines of my cage for the better part of 4 months).
Thanks!

Hip injury caused by my XG750A
An unfortunate update The XG750A has given me a chronic hip pain issue and I haven't been riding it much due to medical recommendation. Doctor told me the Ergonomics of the bike are not good for joint health and she came out and felt my hip while I sat on the bike... I stopped racking miles suddenly at 12K miles. Add insult to injury my ZG1400 was totaled out(good friend was struck by a drunk driver when he was riding it, he's ok just a couple broken bones). So I purchased a 2004 FZ6 for $1500 so I could keep racking miles. 33 Years old never had an issue and now my hip is roughed up. I'm looking to make a full recovery as long as I don't ride my Street rod for more then an hour at a time. The hip pain is still there but it's much duller then before. I'm in talks with Russel Daylong seats and we are going to devise a seat that will let me go back to riding the bike comfortably for 500 miles+ a day.
I still take the XG750A out occasionally but with the MC season winding down here in Vermont I'm riding allot more on my FZ6. 13 years old, 98WHP, 430lbs. No complaints there and the Ergos are actually good for my hip (so says the doctor).
So FYI guys, hoping to get the Street-Rod ready for next season. I'm playing with allot of options and I love this bike! but the seat, pegs and exhuast are HORRID! So if you ride big miles be wary.
Best
