Default S&S Just Released The Stealth Intake For The XG750A Street Rod

While it is not showing on their website just yet I received an email this morning from a nice lady at S&S saying this is now available. This is the first intake made for the Street Rod.

May this effect the factory warranty?

Dunno......it'll probably depend on the dealer you go to. I just went with the SE filter kit although I did mod the air box lid. I'm pretty certain the engine is getting all the air it needs.

Now, the S&S slip on and FP3 I'm running........that's a whole other bag of worms.

Just got my FP3 yesterday, have you ran an auto tune yet? The only mod I'm running is a FireBrand Loose Cannon slip on so I went with the canned map for their exhaust with the insert. Ive still got some decell pop but I haven't tinkered with it.

I have run two auto tune sessions. It has helped a bit from the canned tune (I am running the same V&H's tune).

Here are some instructions I got from V&H's to get a handle on the decel pop. I have yet to ride it since activating it.........

Go into the Fuelpak app and you're going to want to go to the decel pop option. You would need to be connected to the bike. Once connected go into view/edit maps. From that point selected the map highlighted in blue. Once selected go into air and fuel. Go to the Decel pop section and you'll see 3 different modes. Start with one firecracker and bump it up if needed. Once selected you would need to go back to the main menu and hit the thunderbolt in the top right corner to get these changes flashed in.

Hope that helps (us both).

I figured all that out today. So far I've ran with 1 and 2 firecrackers. 1 improved it and 2 seemed to make it worse. I haven't ran any auto tune yet but I've switched back to 1 firecracker for now.

I tried all 3 decel pop settings today. As you, I found one did a little bit and 2 did almost nothing. When I set it to setting 3 it did more than setting 1 but on high rev overrun during some aggressive riding I still had quite a bit of popping. I think I remember reading in one of the many reviews on this bike that the decel popping was purposely tuned into the bike but don't quote me on that.

Got the S&S kit installed today. Nice quality kit all American made. Cleaned up the side of the bike and was a bit lighter than the huge OEM box. I went with the wrinkle black "muscle" cover.

Got a ride in today......probably the last of the season. This is a very bad thing because between the modified tune V&H's sent me and S&S intake this is like a whole new bike. ZERO decel popping, pulls from any throttle position, much better throttle response and revs up quicker. 'Tis going to be a long winter.
