Street 500 for 3k
#11
not to change the subject but can you make a 500 into a 750 fairly easy?
i did the rider course on a 500, kinda fun little bike. for 3k i wouldn't mind picking one up.seems like a fair price. not sure how they will hold their value over time, but i know the metric market for 250-300cc starter bikes is strong. they sell for 3k new and drop to about $1500-$2k and never seem to drop any lower regardless of age

I picked up my XG500 purely for commuting purposes as I lived in NYC and work in Central New Jersey. Despite the small 3.5 Gallons tank; I'm averaging on good days 65 miles to the gallon (mostly highway riding)
I ride regularly with the NYC H.O.G. Chapter so I've put saddlebags on the bike and have outfitted it to go on long distance rides; more recently last August to the H.O.G. National Rally in Milwaukee with detours up to Ontario, Canada and down the western shores of Lake Michigan. I swap out the seats for my long distance rides with the Mustang One-Piece Touring with Driver Back Rest (https://www.mustangseats.com/Product...-Street-500750). Installed the MTX Speaker Bar (https://www.kuryakyn.com/products/50...-bar-by-mtx174). Saddlebags are from Viking Bags with lockable and removable brackets from EasyBrackets in addition to a removable windshield from National Cycle.
Bringing it in to my dealership for 20,000 miles service this Saturday.
This is how I outfitted the motorcycle for long distance runs with stock seats.
