Good Deal Tire Change?

Good Deal Tire Change?
Hello HD fans,
I got a screw in my back tire. Any worries about riding to the dealer (about 15 miles) if the tire seems to hold air? I know it leaks because it was almost flat when I tried to roll it out the front door. I am wondering if I need to get it trailered if it seems to hold some air.
Next thing is ... my dealer offers a 10$ tire change if you use a regulary priced OEM tire. On the HD site my back tire is 257.00. I found the tire for 172.99 on J&P. Michelin 140/75R15. Is that an OK deal? Thanks for any feedback.

A bike that is running a tube, with a visible screw and a loss of air would be a significant concern.
The tube could tear and cause immediate loss of air.
A non tube tire could be hit or miss depending on how slow air loss is and the distance to be traveled.
I have rescued many motorcyclist with non-tubed tires by using an automotive rubber plug.
The tire needs to hold the required amount of air for a consistent amount of time ..."some air" is not good enough and could contribute to a loss of life when taking a turn.
On tire prices...depends on geographic location & tube or no tube, self install or mechanic install.
The Harley dealer is sometimes the most expensive and can sometimes charge as much as $100+ for labor only plus a 10% shop fee for ONE tire.
Most do not mention a "shop" fee over the phone.
Consider reviewing some of the free motorcycle publications in your area for names of independent motorcycle repair shops.
If you have a motorcycle jack and are a do it yourself type of person then a carry-in of tire eliminates a possible tow.
A carry-in would be less expensive and you could avoid having to wait in a shop for hours to get the job down.

Hello HD fans,
After checking around I found that my dealer is only 25 bucks more than all of the indy shops in my area. I could get the tire cheaper and pay an indy shop to install it. I think I am going to support my dealer and pay up for the peace of mind. I really dig that my dealer is open on Sundays and they have always took good care of me. I don’t have to make an appointment and they said it will take about 45min. I used my hog member discount 10% and am now waiting for the tire to come in.
Thanks to the peeps that commented on this subject. I really appreciate your time.

If I could get it for that price I might use the Dealer. But that won't happen here.
