Default Jiffy kickstand

Hi all,
is the jiffy / kickstand the same as other harleys where as it “locks” and does not pop back when parked on a downward slope ?

picking a new SR up in 2 weeks and curious.

Yes it locks when it's fully down and the motorcycle's weight is on it regardless of slope; at least on my wife's 2016 Street 750 (XG750). Don't figure they would have changed it across the model years.

Shouldn't park on a downward slope if you can help it. I have seen bikes roll past compression and tip over.

Hi clyde
with a standard harley kickstand you park your bike out of gear nearly vertical and it won't move !
all the harleys i have owned have had the locking kickstand thats why i asked about the street model.

My 2017 Street XG750 automatically raises the jiffy stand if I am on a downward slope and/or moving forward. It is a safety feature, or so I've been told.

I have a 2018 street 750. It does not lock in the down position. If you put it in neutral when parked on a downhill slope , it will roll forward.

Many owners have had their bikes fall over on their own when parked on level ground. (This happened to mine twice, but on my husband, not me) Always park in gear, not neutral. Turn your front wheel all the way to the left and lock the fork. This puts the weight of the bike on the stand and putting it in gear prevents the roll. Do not park on a downward slope!!!

If you fail to make sure its not lock the jiffy stand will fail and the bike will fall, I alway pull back a bit before i get off to make sure the jiffy is locked.

a street is "not" a Harley.

if parked down hill, our 2015 street will roll downhill & the kickstand will just fold up as the bike rolls away

Default jiffy stand

i took the crescent shaped piece at the top of the spring called the "cam" , scribed some lines in it to the factory point where it hits the cam stop and took a cut off wheel and ground it open a little past that point so the kickstand now moves a little bit farther forward when extended down ......aint had no problem since with it fallin over..... thank you to a previous post on one of these forums 2015 xg 500 1954 miles
