One thing people have to realize is every motorcycle out there (regardless of make)is susceptible to the death wobble. There are many reasons it happens, most cases its **** poor maintenance and blind faith in dealer service departments.I think before an all out death wobble happens your bike is going to show signs that something is out of wack.I maybe wrong in that last statement but making sure every thing is as its supposed to be on the bike will greatly reduce the chance of this dreaded problem. Is it a harley design flaw? Could very well be but most times its operator negligence,Just my opinion and we all know what opinions are.

More like he wasn't paying attention and drove off the road.

Could have been some other mechanical failure, I suppose. Not a "wobble" at that speed, though.

Again. That's steering head wobble. What does that have to do with
The motor mounts.

I have heard that it's typically an issue that appears after a front rim has been removed, and then put back on. Something to do with the tightening of the axle nut, allowing for even very slight movement to cause the front tire to start oscillating.
