The Foothills Parkway is one of my favorite roads up there. It is always lite traffic and no racing that I have seen.

Leaving Gatlinburg, taking route though the national park 73 to the foot hills parkway is a great peaceful ride. I would suggest keeping the speed reasonably close to post limits. Also take the time to stop and enjoy the views and make sure you have gas in the tank.

You may wanna take a side road OFF the FtHlls P'way. GREAT area 'juss be CAREFUL taking those side road....take that comment seriously.

speeding will cost you a $600 + ticket if caught. Federal roadway patrolled by Park Rangers. You've been warned!!! I seldom see them on that road but have a couple of times running radar. I try to keep it around 50 most of the time.
Foothills from 129 back to Townsend end.
