So let's get to the heart of the matter, I just recently purchased the new 18 FB 114. I was in the market either Indian or Harley. The decision was made by considering these factors. There are only 3 Indian dealers with in 150 miles of me. The closest is 58 miles. First deciding factor. To get to any of these 3 Indian dealers I would have to pass 3 different Harley Dealers. That means that there are 9 Harley dealers closer than the closest Indian dealer. I looked at this and in determining service and warranty work the choice was HD. Not because they are better, or that Indian is worse. It all came down to access to the dealers.

You can't dispute Indian bikes. They're really nice, and one day I'll own one. I like the fact they have different rider modes, and their infortainment system is better than Boom! systems. That being said, I have 4 Harley's. I like the style much more. I will own a Chieftan one day or a Scout. It really boils down to what you prefer style wise and performance wise. If you want more performance out of the box, Indian beats Harley all day. One day I hope Harley will produce, from the factory, comparable bikes to Indian in the performance area. But I won't hold my breath...
