Lake Michigan Circle Tour day 1
|
As a Michigander , we've ridden the same roads that you guys traveled, I've ridden the Red Arrow out of Michiana and it turns into the Blue Star Highway, another good road. Just south of Ludington is a large hydro -electric reservoir that is used in emergency power requirements. The water from the reservoir runs down to power turbines, when the power demands go down water from Lake Michigan is pumped back up to the reservoir and is standing by until needed again. Some nice shops in Charlevoix and good watering holes also. Just south of Charlevoix is/was a ferry, goes about 400 feet, drive around Lake Charlevoix back to US31. We were warned about the narrow condition of the "Tunnel" and the sand/gravel, somebody swept the loose stuff the day we rode, north to south. The hotel prices in Mackinaw City are extreme but the out of staters are willing to pay it, summer is tourist season. Waiting for your next video.

Very nice! I recognize a lot of it as I've done the Lake Michigan circle tour before. A couple of quick observations:
1. In the beginning it would have been nice to tell us where you were starting from, either verbally or a scrolling text. 2. Try to let us know where you are more often. Hwy 37 is a beautiful ride with great scenery. It's like you started out somewhere near the Indiana/Michigan border and next thing you know you're in Traverse City. There's a lot of Michigan between those two points. 3. It looks like you used a drone of some kind. Excellent addition to your video. What kind did you use? Thanks again. |
thank you for the tips, you are correct about all pointers. drone that I use is Mavic pro 2 zoom

Thanks for the info, next time ill do that trip hopefully I'll visit more cool places. Thats the minus of riding in bigger groups, you can't really stop and see everything you want.
Thanks for the feedback and info. Cheers and Merry Christmas |
