I saw some old videos with knuckleheads and flatheads doing that stuff. Oh yeah, the riders had no helmets or protective gear. Big cojones. Big!

This is from a site called AVRIDER.com and this is a bike like TE Lawrence used to ride. The guy of Arabian fame.
That is a JAP engine, manufactured by Joseph A Prestwich, IIRC.
