Differences between Harley and Victory engines

I didn't know that engines could be so different.
Is this all true?

Might be true but those Vics look like shite.....

I've seen those videos on youtube before .Some of the things that guy says are true ,but for the most part he's just trying to make the victory sound like its a better engine design which in some spots it is.But I'd still rather have my harley.

Ask this question in 109 years. Will victory still be alive?

The Victory is more modern technology all the way around. They run real good too. I hope you guy's don't believe shutting off the rear cylinder is a better way to deal with excessive heat than a factory oil cooler on an air cooled V twin.

Oh well, I guess I got taken. But I still love my old school 2012. And now I know what that clunking noise is when I shift. But if it's the chain drive tightening, why doesn't it happen every time ?
...oh, and he didn't explain how all the plastic parts on the Victory are better than the metal ones on my bike.

That guy is a salesman.........what can I say, he's close to full of shit. 77K on the RG and all of those "Harley issues" have yet to rear their ugly head.
The Victory is a good bike and I may have one some day but, it will have nothing to do with what that guy says.

skootchnc 05-17-2012 05:02 AM

hmmmm you go to a Victory motorcycle forum... and they all claim their bike is superior???? My guess is, if you go to ANY "owner's Forum" you'll find similar reports

I like the Victory.... nice bike. I know fellows who have them.and they love their bikes.

Would I buy one? I dunno... maybe... I do know they ain't cheap (oh the bike on the floor is cheap... but after you've added what they lack.... they are RIGHT UP THERE.

On a side note.... A moth or so ago, I saw a 2008 Victory Vision for sale at the local Vic dealer... the asking price was $10k. Compared that with any 2008 HD. I don't buy a bike to sell it, a few years later.... but still.

Just proves that Victory is a H-D wanna be... They seem to be well made bikes, and the Cross Country is pretty cool looking IMO, but you probably won't see me trading my Road King off for one.
