Where do you mount the GoPro on your bike?

I'd like to mount the GoPro on the front of my Street Glide, but everything looks like it vibrates a lot? What works on a Street Glide?

I have the same question. I ordered another accessory kit. Gonna try the highway bar.

I have used my swing arm, rear tail light and forks......all were pretty good for vibration, sound sucks regardless though.

I have tried a number of video cameras with mixed results. My next will likely be a GoPro. Vibration is the bugger. I wonder if the GoPro is better stabilized than older cameras. In a couple cases getting into high revs the camera video noise would just wipe out the video. The only really good place I have found is on the helmet, both to limit vibration and allow scanning to good views. The downside is finding a good, secure way of mounting it. I saw someone with a full face with camera mounted in front of chin area. That made sense as it minimizes wind resistance and even looks a bit less geek to a casual observer. I suppose over the eyes would be similar on 3/4 or 1/2 helmet. Getting secure mounting with some ability to level and aim is a challenge.

Secondly is sound. I would like to hear from folks who have used a remote microphone....like those round ones....taped to rear fender and protected from wind noise so exhaust could be useable in some of the footage....100% music is tiresome to me regardless of the choice.

A late camera blue toothed to a readily viewable and touchable phone opens up more possibilities in my opinion. I hope those who have found answers will chime in. Recording our travels is here to stay...who knows maybe people will even start editing for interest and length. I am no expert, not even a seasoned novice, but I have learned to refrain from walk around 15 minute videos of the bike at idle in the driveway that are jerky, tilted, out of focus and the primary sound is heavy breathing. Progress, not perfection

Tie it down

I found a good mount that bolts to the batwing windshield mount. Not too much vibration. However, my gopro mount broke and I lost a hero 2. So be sure to tether it to something. I saw it come loose and hit the highway. Stopped and searched for 1/2 hour and all I could find was the clear case in a lot of pieces. Next one will be a hero 3.

I use a cheap computer microphone and attach it to the rear fender just over the exhaust. The cord is long enough to fish under the tank and seat. It does away with the wind noise and picks up the sound of the pipes just fine. (it's held on with a small piece of duct tape doubled over).

Take a look at Hogtagcollar.com Their mounts work well and protect the finish on the bike

Timely thread. I have been experimenting with GoPro mount for the last week.

I've got a vid I will post of what not to due. Mounted it to a passenger footpeg and captured the "jello" effect perfectly. I now have it mounted to my crashbar and that seems like it's going to work fine. I'd love to post a pic of the mount but photobucket is not cooperating this morning, I'll post later.

I took this vid and found out I captured way to much of bike and not enough of scenery, I have since repositioned it and think it will frame much better. Gonna go out later today and I'll try to post another video.

This is the mount I am using http://www.ebay.com/itm/121281025292...84.m1497.l2649

The very first part of the mount, "U" shaped piece, is wobbly. I secured it with Gorilla glue and no camera shake now.

Photobucket is back up, here is my current setup. I do use a tether (mason's string) Gonna see about using a steel fishing leader.

This is what happens when the mount doesn't work.

This is video using audio-technical Lavalier Mic ATR3350. I'm only mildly impressed.
