Thought I would update on travel plans and extend an invite to anyone on the forums who would like to ride about 100 miles on the Blue Ridge Parkway tomorrow 8/12/12.

Voudoujoe an his crew are meeting me at Joe's Steakhouse
708 South Royal Avenue Front Royal, VA 22630 which is just up the street from the entrance to Skyline Drive/ Blue Ridge Parkway at 1200.

I will be leaving the Roanoke area at 0900 traveling up I-81 (Would prefer not to ride interstate but the good ride will be in the afternoon when I have no time constraints

If you would like to ride or just meet along the route to sign then feel free to contact me before 0900 tomorrow and we can make arrangements.

I met up with Voudoujoe and jaymiller5 in Front Royal yesterday for the handoff then rode down Skyline Dr and the Blue Ridge Parkway back to Roanoke.

A big thanks goes to Jay as he allowed me to ride his brand new Electra glide to the autozone to pick up a fresh battery. Mine was dead from riding 2.5 hrs with no stator connection After some McGiver engineering on the connector all was good and we were off to the Shenandoah National Park. I had a dumbass attack and pulled over to quick for some petrol without checking if Vou was far enough back to react but Vou was paying attention and no incident occurred. We met a cool little biker pooch there and traded some wind with the owners. then it was back on the drive to highway 33 where we parted ways and they could head back north.

The Mascot is now outside Roanoke Va. The plan as of now is meeting for a Mascot signing at Tuggles Gap Motel/Restaurant at the intersection of the BRP and State Highway 8 near Floyd at 3:30pm on Thursday. Weather is supposed to be perfect. No rain all sunshine.

Mascot will be leaving 0800 on the 18th heading for Charlottesville for a meet with fwb35 and then on to Richmond.

 

Nice meeting up with you and no problem at all letting you take the scoot for a run to the part store. As I told you, to me, harley 101 is making sure your fellow rider is taken care of. I am glad that it all worked out and remember, "Real men use pink zip ties on their Harley" - voudoujoe

It was a nice ride down skyline for sure and I got home last night around 1030 so I am glad we spun around at 33 otherwise it would have been almost midnight. Total mileage count for the weekend was 890 for me due to a little detour on the ride home last night after breaking from voudoujoe after a little grub making me back track a little bit and then just decided to run down into Baltimore (695) and running up 83 back home. It was a great weekend.
