Mascot's 2013 Travels Map & Trails overview
#111
Just got back from Maysville and our meetup with backroads-2.
First, passing through Circleville, a mural of harvest time in the early 1900's-
notice whats sitting (in the mural) just above the top left corner of the mascot? Yessir, an early 1900's Harley!
Then we rode across US 22 and caught Ohio 138 south, through Greenfiled, Ohio, the birthplace of Johnny Paycheck, then continuing on into Hillsboro, Ohio. We then took US 62 all the way across the mighty Ohio River into Kentucky over to Ky 9 then on over to Applebees.
Myself (on right) with backroads and his wonderfully nice wife at Applebees
the handoff-
gettin the dang thing back all folded up proper....lol
Backroads, it was great meeting you. The trip back home across the southern portion of Ky was excellenet. Didn't cloud back up until we were darned near to Portsmouth! Then it was cold, overcast and dismal all the way back home.

So, we got it south of the Mason-Dixon line where I hope its travels are long and continuous.
It was a privilege, and maybe the best part was meeting some of the fine folks who were involved in helping move the mascot along.
Thanks all!

Mascot handoff
We are happy to hear Glideridemike and his lovely wife made it home safe from the handoff. We enjoyed sitting and talking to you. We are honored to be a part of the history of the flag. We plan to take it to the covered bridges of Kentucky, Boonesboro Fort and Keenland before passing it on. It was great meeting you and hope our paths cross again. We will post pictures as we collect them.

I'm communicating with backroads-2 about getting the mascot further south for the winter. If everything goes to plan, we will meet up this Sunday afternoon at Wildcat HD in London KY and I will bring her south to Knoxville.

backroads-2 executed the perfect mascot hand-off at Wildcat HD this afternoon and it has since made it 120 miles south to Knoxville, TN. I am planning to show the mascot around to some of our regional attractions (with photo ops!) over the next few days and will then work on moving it south for the winter.
Thank you, Jay. It was great meeting you and Mary today. I hope that you had a safe ride home!
BTW - in the above pic, Jay is the good looking guy on the left. I'm the fat slob on the right.

Oct. 21-2013 I processed some additional info into the 2013 Mascot Map (In Google Maps, scroll down and click "next" to view all info)
@ backroads-2 & LeadSSled:
If you let me know the itineraries you took, I'll adjust the map once more and add the mileage to the 2013 Trails Summary..

Very cool guys! Glad the mascot has made it into the southland. Keep it moving! I was telling backroads one of the great things about being involved in moving the mascot along is meeting people from hdforums, and being able to know them a bit more than just assuming about them based on what we see here.
Nowwww, what would be even cooler is to have a huge get together, a yearly thing, somewhere in the middle of the country, which I believe is somewhere in northern Kansas. We could make sure the mascot made a showing there at the same time.
Well, y'all have fun down there................its supposed to snow mid week up here, so think of us winter birds as that air is hitting you in the face!
