Default New Throttle Body Idle issues

My dad's bike is a 2008 Dyna Streetbob. It has an S&S 106 with Zippers cams, full fueling camchest upgrade, bassani 2into1, ness big sucker 2 and a power commander V with autotune. He recently purchased a used stock throttle body. I sent the throttle body out and had it bored to 50mm. Had a local shop install and check the tune. I was told the technician was having issues getting the idle to come down. Does anybody have any info on what might be the problem?

with the bike at operating temp spray carburetor cleaner or use a windex bottle with water and spray around the intake flanges where they bolt to the cylinders . if the idle changes then you have a vacuum leak on the intake manifold and that would be one likely cause or the IAC motor bore is dirty with debris from the boring of the body and a piece of metal filling is holding it out causing the bike not to idle.

I would start with the simple stuff first. Get some throttle body cleaner and spray the IAC, cycle the ignition a couple of times so the step motor moves and you can get it completely cleaned out. Always a good idea to put a clean rag in the TB opening so any crap you dislodge won't go down the intake.

May need the throttle stop adjusted. If the new blade is open too far the iac motor will not be able to compensate. The tech will need to datalog the iac steps. It should be showing +/- 40 steps at 105*C.

Besides the throttle stop, you may want to check the fit of the new throttle blade in the bore of the throttle body.. Make sure the fit is not too loose.

Well when we got the throttle body back at first the tech checked it out and the throttle blade was installed backwards by the person who bored the throttle body. Figured out the problem was trash and such in side the IAC motor causing it not to function properly. Now I just gotta talk him into getting some head work so it will make that bike scream. With stock heads it is severely under powered for the work he has done so far. He is just cheap lol. Thanks for the info everybody I trust the tech I was just curious because I did not get to talk to him personally.
