New HD owner with question
You will have to forgive my lack of knowledge regarding HD technical issues. I just bought a 2006 Wide Glide and I am considering adding new pipes, AC, and a Stage 1 download.
Will I really see an performance improvement with this? I certainly want to add SE slip on mufflers, but should I go ahead and do the AC and download? Does altering the fuel mix really show a noticeable change?

rde,
You are on the right track but the harley download is crap. I know there are dollars at stake here but go with the SERT (Screamin Eagle Race Tuner) or the DynoJet PCIII (Power Commander). You will be a lot happier and your bike will run great. The hd download is a bandaid fix that just does not take care of the problems caused by the new air/fuel mixture caused by the stage 1 upgrade and pipes.

Your advice echos much of what I have read in the forum since I discovered it.
My next, perhaps stupid question is, can you first add the pipes, and then later do the AC and EFI download? Is that going to hurt anything? I've already spent alot on the bike already, can I do these upgrades later without hurting anything?

rde,
Yes, you should be able to add the SE slipons without doing the SERT or Air Cleaner upgrade. You can't do the air cleaner without the SERT though. The pipes should not change your air/flue ratio enough to cause much of a problem. Try it, run it and check the plugs to make sure your are not running too lean. Harleys are already lean from the factory and you don't want it to get any worse.
