No or poor start and run after fuel tank swap 05 Softail
Okay,
Let me start off with, I bought a wrecked 05 Softail Standard. I had already swapped the rear fender and struts, etc. It was running and I rode it around. Open stage one air cleaner and stock exhaust.
Today, the matching silver gas tank arrives in the mail. I removed the dented tank. Unplugged the harnesses. I opened it up, removed the fuel pump from the hanger clip, removed the clamp...pulled out the sending unit.
Swapped all the parts into the undented tank. Poured in the gas from said dented tank.....and....pops and darts through intake and exhaust.
I swappend out the spark plugs. It started, barley an idle and not smooth? When you opened the throttle it bogger and died.
I pulled the tank loose and made sure I didn't disturb and plugs and had no pinched or bare wires. The MAP sensor seems loose in the intake? But, holding pressure on it did not resolve the issue. Neither did some WD-40 sprayed around the throttle body and intake flanges to check or seal intake Tracy leaks.
No DTC codes. Pump runs. It tries to start?
Have I missed something?
Nothing really came up when I searcget and even Google search for similar events.
Please help.
