Elec throttle issues

Elec throttle issues
I have a 2014 Street Glide Special. At about 3000 miles, the electrical throttle quit (I was in Mexico of course!) This resulted in HD replacing the entire elec throttle system under warranty. Fast forward two years and here we go again. I've learned enough to extract the codes (p1511 and p2135). I can usually clear them and all is well. However it's getting to where it happens in just a couple miles from the house. Anybody else have experience with this issue?

Although HD installed a cover in 2014, check out the condition of the Throttle Position Sensor connector pins behind the air cleaner on the left side. If the pins have deteriorated the problem can be intermittent, and the bike goes into limp mode. Fortunately for me, when mine acted up, I was within 30 miles of an HD dealer that had repair parts in stock, and they stayed after closing to get me on the road.

Found a bit of corrosion in the connector, got it cleaned up. We'll see over the next couple days of that took care of the problem. It makes sense, since the throttle has two voltage sensors that work opposite of each other. If they don't sync then it will initiate limp mode. Hope we got it taken care of! Thanks for the assistance!

Once you have cleaned it well, plug the connector off and on several times. Then blow it out, this will get anything knocked out of the connection points in the wire harness side. Then a small amount of dielectric grease added on the contact slows it from happening again.
