VOES setting of T-MAN build
What's up everyone. Just getting everything with the motor sent off and torn down. I am building a 93 FXLR with an 80" @ 10.5:1 , tman headwork, tman 625 cam, mikuni 42, RB racing LSR 2-1 pipes, Daytona single fire ignition. Trying to figure out exactly where I need to have my voes set to. The bike is a light one so I know its not as high as baggers and whatnot but just want to dot all I's and cross all t's on this build. From my understanding an inaccurate voes switch can cause big issues or even engine failure if not calibrated correctly, esp in the NC summer heat. Saw Zippers has them for sale so may talk with them and go that route. Preciate any help. Thanks.

the only suggestion i can give is mount it very accessible and experiment. i would start off with stock setting which i think is around 5.5" for the BT, the sportster is 4".
run the machine and IF you find any trouble spots and note rpm/speed.
after you are sure you have an issue and eliminated any mix and ign issues(gasoline blends), then try the voes. where the voes troubles start is when you have the machine lightly loaded as in high gear and slight roll on and you get ping. there, you might set it at say 6>6.5" and see if that helps. there is no magic one size fits all.
i personally do not use the voes since it gave me clutch off issues. i use rpm base curve and it it works for me. i reach full adv around 2.8K rpm.
