Route 66 - lot's of information and help can be had by joining this thread

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/ignit...-se-tuner.html

I have the SEPST (SE Pro Street Tuner) and it can only be married to one ECM. So in my case, as I suspect is the same for you, if my ECM dies I would need to purchase a new SEPST. With regards to the map I have for my bike, there is a copy on the laptop I used to run the SEPST. I can restore that map using my current or newly purchased SEPST. I suspect what the shop that did your original tune is telling you is that they can no longer purchase an SE Pro Race Tuner to install your original map to your new ECM? You should confirm if they have a copy of your map and at least ask for it.

Anyway, join the thread I provided above and retell your situation there as there are many with much more knowledge and may be able to provide you with a solution?

Your tuner can be unlocked from the guy on ebay for $100. The tune should still be in it, but it is also on the computer that was used to program the bike.

I believe this is him.

Why can't the calibration be downloaded from the VCI?

It can - I forgot to say that as well when I said the tune is still in it in my previous post - oops sorry.

Referring him to the guy who resets them will save the price of buying another VCI.
