Voltage reading wrong

i have a 1998 Electra Glide it wont start or turn over it just clicks. Battery is new and has around 12.75 volts but gauge on bike only reads 10 volts. Tried to jump off and still nothing changed.

Did you check the battery cables for condition and tight connections at both ends? Check the length of the battery cables carefully.

instrumentation gauges are not really accurate to begin with, just indicators of things to come. factor in all the vibration and wiring drops, surprised they read at all, throw a vom on it.

20 year old battery cables may be going bad, getting corroded from the inside out. Double check them.
Unless the battery is somehow defective connection is suspect.
