Default 2018 M8 114 - Strange Idle Issue

Since taking the bike out this season I have a strange new issue with the idle. Right before coming to a stop (clutch in/bike at normal idle) the idle will raise a few hundred RPM and once stopped it drops back down to normal. It never has done this before. It just started this season. I did a few things over the winter- radial tires, Oberon adjustable levers and some powder coating.....nothing big. Bike is a 2018 FatBob 114 with a FuelMoto PV and slip-ons. I performed the throttle reset procedure this morning after arriving at work but have not ridden it since to see if that helped. No trouble codes and it runs perfect sans the bump in idle issue.

Thoughts?

Resetting the idle did nothing. One thing I noticed on the way home was if I put the bike in neutral and release the clutch lever before coming to a stop the idle is dead steady. Not sure what the clutch lever would have to do with the idle. Guess I'll reinstall the OEM levers and see if that returns things to normal.

Any other ideas?

Is the bike dyno tuned? did you run auto tune? if not, sometimes lean cells around the idle can do this issue

It is running a FuelMoto tune with a PV but I have never run an auto tune nor has it been on a dyno. Now, I did swap out the original S&S Grand National slip on's for Vance & Hines units.

Does it start in gear with clutch pulled in?

Dunno, I'll have to try that. Jamie sent an updated tune for me to try as well.

Well, it seems I have found and 100% rectified my idle issue. It was one of the first things that came to mind and should have done right off the bat. Over the winter one of the mods I installed were a set of Oberon adjustable levers. Yesterday I removed them from the bike and reinstalled the OE levers. Rode the bike into work this morning and the idle issue seems to be a thing of the past. Strangest side effect from any aftermarket part I have ever installed.

I tested this and it did not start under those conditions.

The lever wasn't letting the clutch safety switch fully engage (come out). The bike wasn't sensing that you had the lever pulled in, so it bumps the idle for some reason. That's also the effect of a bad clutch safety switch...

Should have gone with my gut feeling about the lever install right off the bat and removed them after that first ride of the season.
