Fuel pressure?

I now believe we may have a fuel pressure problem but I need to rig up a pressure gauge. I have a calibrated gauge but gotta figure how to connect. Any ideas?

 

'05, check the cheesy plastic corrugated fuel line in the tank. They are prone to rubbing a pin hole because of how it is positioned against the fuel pump. Start bike and look inside tank with a flashlight, if its leaking, you will see it.

 

Discovered fuel pressure regulator housing broken & spraying fuel. Housing & regulator sold separately. I’m only going to replace the housing.

 

Seen t a bunch of times, let us know when u get it done.

I did replace only the fuel pressure regulator housing. I reused the rubber gasket & screws w/seals on the fuel pump housing plate mount. Bike’s running great & thanks for all the support & I’m glad I could share my findings. Even got to get out to bike tonight.

 

Too cool. Seen a few of those plastic housing cracked and open with o-ring hanging out on here when people go in tank.

I can understand sputtering but why does motor pop back thru throttle body when fuel pressure is low?

Was the backfire thru the throttle body when cranking and starting and as it was dieing running down road?

 

Backfire was bad & out thru throttle body. I didn’t realize low pressure could cause that, just like an intake leak, but it did. Now I’m wanting to buy a check hose & fuel line so I can make a fuel pressure test gauge setup. That would have helped in initial diagnosis. Found used parts on EBay.
