Default ignition condenser prank

Alright this doesn't have anything to do with harley.I can't remember but when i was a kid my dad would charge an ignition condenser and it would shock someone if they picked it up. I cant remember how he charged it, anyone done this? I think you charge it on a battery charger for a few seconds ? Anyone remember?

Ground the case on the block and use plug wire to the center wire or strap. As long as you only touch either the case or wire only, you can handle it. If you become the link between the two, you'll wish you hadn't.
Used topull that prank when I worked as a mechanic in a Chrysler shop in the late '60s.

Size and voltage dependent, charged caps can kill.

Wrong! The zap will be the same as getting bitten by a spark plug wire. Find me a mechanic that hasn't done that by accident. Then show me even one machanic that went into cardiac arrest because of it. In 27 yrs in the fire service I never had such an incident. I can also tell you from personal experience what a defibrilator feels like and how long it takes the burns marks to heel.

I assumed the "size and voltage dependent" bit would suffice to indicate I wasn't talking about (just) ignition system capacitors.

How do you think those defib units store their charge?

Yeah, I'd got that. I was just thinking that someone might read this, find a capacitor somewhere, plug it into the wall, and try to have a laugh. Silly me.
