Power Commander II vs. Power Commander III
Hi. This is my first post so please excuse me if this was already discussed. First, I have a 2000 Road King, EFI, with no internal motor work. I have Santee 2 1/4" true dual pipes w/ baffles (the pipes are wrapped with Thremo Tech insulating wrap), and a Forcewinder air cleaner.... I just put the air cleaner on. I want to get a Power Commander. I canbuy a new PC III for approx $300. But, I canbuy a new PC II for about $90. Is it worth spending the extra money for the PC III or will the PC II suit me fine? Thanks.

RE: Power Commander II vs. Power Commander III
The PCIII uses newer technology and direct injector control vs the sensor offset method of the PCII. The PCIII USB has many more features available, such as rev extension. The PCII can sometimes not provide enough fuel for large engine builds due to the sensor offset technology.

Marty124, I have a 1999-2001 MMsystem like you do. I was in your quandry last March during my new engine build. I just couldn't fund the Zippers T-Max with AutoTune conversion (wish I could though). In the end, I went with the newer technology, the PCIII-usb, vs. some offers for "free" PCIIs. I've been riding it for about a week now, post dyno, and if only the bike ran this smoothly (warm-up, idling, air/fuel ratios) while I drove it with the HD Stage II download!! Mama Mia! [8D]

I got a 99 road glide. 48000 miles. PC ll, with the map done by Joe Minton. It will say on their web site. Just download it on your PCII, I believe the map # is 316 , I may be wrong, but it is listed. Joe was with American Rider mag. All have been dyno tested. Great map.. Hold on.....

98 road king with PCII
1-running basic map.
2-if you look at the cells (numbers) on your computer during map selection you may notice the numbers do not change very much from one map to another.
3-bike has original pipes with front and rear slip-on plug removed(drilled)...also has K and N filter in the original box
no issues.

You can get one from Ebay, brand new with all reqiured parts. I was watching 2 auctions. The first auction ended before I had a chance to read the replies on this site. The winner paid $86!! I did end up buying a PCII,, also from Ebay. I did pay slightly more..$102. For my bike, I think this will work out fine. Thanks for the replies. They did help.
Wopster--- What web site should I visit for the maps? Thanks.
