Default Remove CA emissions?

I recently purchased an '05 Dyna FXDCI from California (I live in Ohio), and the bike has the CA emissions equipment. I wanted to know if this can be removed, and if so, how will it affect the performance of the bike? Is this something I can do myself, or should I have the dealer do it?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Default RE: Remove CA emissions?

I have one, read up on removing it via the service manual and ultimately decided just to leave it since it has no affect on the bike itself other than aesthetics. You can easily do it yourself. Get the service manual for detailed instructions, but, it's just a matter of unbolting it and plugging one of the tubes.
