Cold Idle on 00 EGC

Been fighting an issue - the bike will fire right up, go to the cold idle rpm for about one second (1500ish) then drop down to about 500 rpm and barley stay running, once I slowly goose the throttle once or twice it will go back to 1500 and warm up normal and smells really rich. I have shot all the sensors and have even changed the inlet air temp sensor and the stepper motor. Any one have any suggestions or seen this before?

The bike has PCIII, true duals, SS510G gear driven cams and a stage one kit. I have eliminated the PCIII by hooking up the stock computer with the same results. I have checked for intake leaks and have even cleaned the intake, I have adjusted both warm and cold settings to no avail. Also redownloaded the map into the PCIII. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Please see my reply to " adjusting idle speed without remapping " you have the same problem.

Check the miniature bearing in the idle actuator plate on the side of the throttle body. It probably needs replacing!

My fast idle actuator went bad, got replace under warranty and went bad again. I would get all different idle speeds. The last time, I just took it outta the loop. I backed the set screw up till the fast idle actuator doesn't touch the plate any more. Now, on cold starts I simply crack the throttle a smidge and let it idle at the speed I choose. Been working that way for about 5 years now.

stroker1948 and papamte, I will check into the bearing tonight after work, stroker I did change the motor out and did the steps as you described with negative results, is this bearing part of the throttle body or is it the on the bracket I changed last week when I changed the stepper motor??? Frustrating.....

Thanks for you time and I'll have an update either tonight or tomorrow.

The bearing plate is on the right side of the throttle body at the end of the throttle shaft. This plate is only moved by the idle actuator, and it seems that if the idle actuator senses extra resistance from this plate that it will just drop out.
I could readjust the cold idle, but after about a week it would mess up again.

papamte - The new stepper motor came with a new bracket and bearing, I took it off again last night and twisted the bearing between my fingers and have the same results. I also noticed last night that on a test ride the bike seems to be popping some when I let off the throttle. I hate to just start changing things that are working fine and or take it to some one to look at, but I'm starting to wear thin here, thanks for your assistance.

Bump - Still messing with it, I did find out my neighbor can get his hands on a scanalyzer, so I have hopes of getting it fixed before summer.
