Hello,
I have a 2005 Ultra Classic that recently won't start unless you have the bike engaged in gear and push it about an inch . Then either pull in clutch or put in N. then it will start. I have checked all the minor stuff( bad battery, cables. ground wire etc.
Any help will be appreciated. I'm stumped and need fixed. Too risky to take on long runs away from home.

Do the 05's have a neutral safety switch? That is a switch that requires the bike to be in neutral or the clutch to be engaged before starting? That would be my first guess.
