Default Brake light not firing - 07 Night Train

Running lights work, brake light does not. Replaced the bulb, no dice. All stock bulbs and stock switches. Any clue?

edit: Both the front brake lever and the rear brake pedal will not fire the brake light.

EDIT: If you need a new switch don't go to the dealership ($60). Get it from Dennis Kirk ($16.95)

Have you checked both the hand brake and foot brake? If one works and the other doesn't it has to be a switch. If they both don't work I'd suspect a wire under the fender but it could be anywhere in the brake electrical system.

I checked under the fender and it looks like all the wires are in tact.

Is there a unique fuse for just the brake lights? I thought there was just one fuse for the headlight, tail light and brake lights.

Your fuses are under the rectangular cover under the seat by the battery. Check all the fuses.

A service manual is an excellent investment and will pay for itself the first time you use it.

There is only one fuse for the lights. It turns out the problem was the switch on the handlebar. $60 for that thing... give me a break.

Ok, now the brake light is always on, lol. It seems that the brake lever will always be in contact with the switch unless I physically press it away from the handlebar. What did we do wrong?
